The police made two new arrests in the investigation of the incidents in front of the central barracks on Monday 16 January when the leader PTr Navin Ramgoolam summoned the Central CID in the case of the safes.Madhookar Ramnarain, a 59-year-old resident of Floreal, and Mohammad Wally Ahad Dhoorundhur, a 39-year-old shopkeeper living on rue Gorah-Issac, Port Louis, were arrested and provisionally charged in Port Louis court on Tuesday (January 24th).They were presented before magistrate Vignesh Ellayah.Two temporary charges were filed against Madhookar Ramnarain and Mohammad Wally Ahad Dhoorundhur: “Taking part in an unlawful assembly” and “obstructing road”. They were released on parole after each signing a debt recognition of Rs 5,000.Former Labor and Youth Minister Devanand Rittoo was arrested last week in connection with the investigation.
